Garlic Naan




INGREDIENTS:

  1. Dried active yeast - 1 tsp
  2. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  3. Warm water - 1/2 cup
  4. All purpose Flour - 1 cup plus more for kneading
  5. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  6. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  7. Butter - 2 tsp
  8. Baking Powder - 1/2tsp
  9. Yogurt - 3 tsp
  10. Garlic-5 cloves chopped fine( or more as desired)

METHOD:


  • In a cup combine yeast and sugar, add water and kee p it aside for 5 minutes or until its foamy.


  • Saute the garlic in 1tsp oil.


  • Combine salt and flour in a large bowl and make a well in the middle.


  • Pour yeast mixture, oil,garlic and stir well with a spoon.


  • After that start kneading the mixture with your fingers till a soft dough is formed. If needed put more flour. Knead for a few minutes.
  • Oil a bowl and keep the dough in it covered with a wet cloth.
  • Let the dough rise to double its size. It will take about 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and make it in the shape of balls.
  • Spread it in oval shape.


  • Heat tawa. Brush one side of naan with butter and heat that side . Mean while brush the other side with butter. Repeat this till the sides are brown.


  • Repeat this with the remaining 5 dough balls.
    Serve with curry
