Vegetable Puffs


This is the most easy snack. Its semi-homemade. The puff pastry you can find in the Frozen Section of any U.S. grocery store. The most popular brand is Pepperidge Farm. Mostly there will be two pastry sheets in one packet. With one sheet, you can make 6 puffs.

INGREDIENTS:
  • First take one sheet and allow it to thaw in room temperature. It will take approx. 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile you can make Masala.

    For Masala:
  1. Onion chopped - 1
  2. French Cut Beans - 1/2 cup
  3. Peas - 1/5 cup
  4. Carrots - 1/5 cup
  5. Green chillies - 2
  6. Garlic- Ginger paste - 1tsp
  7. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt to taste

METHOD:

  • Saute onion in 2 tsp oil. When it is transperent add garlic-ginger paste, cumin and garam masala. Fry for a minute.
  • Add beans, peas and carrots and chopped green chillies and fry for a few minutes.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Preheat the oven to 400F
  • Unfold the thawed pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut into 6 equal pieces.
  • If the pastry sheet cracks, apply some water and bind it.
  • To each piece put masala in the middle and wrap.
  • Pinch the edges together applying a little water.
  • Place these on a baking plate and bake for 15 to 18 mnts. When they are done the outer layer will be light brown.
    Veg. puffs ready :) You can replace it will other filling to make puffs of your choice.
